St Michael’s is a family church and we think it is important that everyone can join in our worship. We have several different groups/services for children which include a mixture of learning, stories and worship and are run by skilled leaders. The groups cater to specific ages helping the children to understand the gospel whatever their age. We encourage children to start service with the larger congregation and then join the smaller age appropriate groups. Children are welcome to stay in the main service if they prefer.
Glow-worms
Children under two along with their parents/carers have the opportunity to sing songs and play with toys in a safe room downstairs.
Fireflies
Children in nursery to year 1, often with their parents are welcome to join in the songs, stories and hands-on activities every week.
Comets
Children in school years 2-4 are welcome to the 9.30 or 11.15 services.
Firestarters
At the 9.30 and 11.15am services, children in school year 5 and above have a chance to learn about what it means to be a Christian today. These sessions are often adapted to follow whatever it is that the young people want to talk about and there is always some sort of snack too!
