Living as Christ's Ambassadors
Ambassadors 2020 is part of Capital Vision 2020, the Diocese of London’s shared vision for a Church for London that is Christ-centred and outward looking. We seek to be more confident in speaking and living the Gospel of Jesus Christ, more compassionate in serving communities with the love of God the Father and more creative in reaching new people and places with the Good News in the power of the Spirit.
To enable us to be more confident in speaking and living the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we are seeking to equip and commission 100,000 ambassadors representing Jesus Christ. If you are a follower of Jesus Christ, then you are an ambassador. You are sent out to live and work to His praise and glory in daily life.
Ambassadors 2020 is about encouraging you, wherever your frontline is, to live and work daily for Christ.
Special Season in autumn 2016
Our short series of sermons in autumn 2016 is part of St Michael’s and All Saints’ response to the diocesan initiative, Ambassadors 2020. You’ll see the overall idea set out in the extract from the website above.
This series of sermons and studies is designed to provide further stimulus for reflection—and action!—for groups and individuals. Here is some of the thinking behind the Ambassadors project:
We spend (most of us!) a tiny percentage of our time each week in church or engaged in church-related activities.
Yet as disciples of Christ we are living as such all of the time, wherever we are.
Our congregations at St Michael’s and All Saints’ bring together people who live and work in an amazing variety of contexts.
Living as a Christian at work, at home, or in the community brings challenges, but also opportunities—when we speak and live out our faith people are reached by the love of God.
Part of the importance of coming together on Sundays is to encourage one another in these challenges, to share our experiences, and to be equipped as ambassadors of Jesus Christ.

On these Sundays, Searchlights will run in the Lower Hall at the 9.45 service. A chance for parents and other adults to discuss what it means to be a Christian Monday to Friday, and how our faith and church interacts with the rest of our lives. Led each week by a member of the clergy and someone in a different employment or other context, these are great sessions to be part of. Taking place in the creche area, so there is no need to leave small children, and older children will be looked after upstairs or in other groups.
