Director of Music

Paul Dean pursues a freelance career as a performer and teacher from his home in London. He is the Director of Music at St Michael’s Church, Highgate and Assistant Director of Music at ‘The Hall’, Hampstead. He has had considerable success in several national and international competitions winning the Third International Organ Competition in Biarritz, the 1997 Royal College of Organists Performer of the Year Competition and the First International Organ Competition in Warsaw. He was also a finalist in the 16th International Organ Competition in Chartres. A Fellow of the Royal College of Organists, Paul is in frequent demand as a soloist, and as an accompanist both in this country and abroad. In 2009 he undertook his first solo concert tour of Australia to critical acclaim. Highlights over the next few years will include recitals in France and Denmark, a solo tour of South Africa and a second tour of Australia.


Assistant Director of Music
Marion Bettsworth

Marion Bettsworth is the Assistant Director of Music at St Michael's Church, Highgate. She is additionally the Organ Scholar at Alexandra Palace and is Accompanist for Enfield Choral Society. Inspired to take up the organ in her final years of school, Marion was awarded an organ scholarship at Lancaster Priory in 2008. She went on to read Music at Lincoln College, Oxford, where she held the organ scholarship and directed the college's chapel choir, performing with them in venues including St Peter's Basilica in the Vatican and several UK cathedrals. After graduating she spent a year as Organ Scholar at St Marylebone Parish Church, London. She is an Associate of the Royal College of Organists.
