Music at St Michael's

There is such a lot on offer musically at St Michael’s. Whether you are young or old, a singer or an instrumentalist, or just someone who enjoys listening or music, there is something for you!

Please read on, get in touch, and join us in making and listening to music.

9.45am

Our more traditional 9.45am service is led by the choir, who also sing at the 6.30pm service once a fortnight.

We are passionate about involving children and young people in our services and seek to include them wherever possible. As such, alongside our parish choir, we also host a probationers' choir for younger members. If you would like to join either choir, please get in touch with Paul Dean.

11.15am

The 11.15 service is more contemporary and includes music for children. If you play an instrument you may wish to get involved in our band at the 11:15 service. The band plays about once a month and includes players of any ability, young or old, so do get in touch.

From time to time we also host a number of concerts which are often free with a retiring collection. Programmes range from Organ recitals or instrumental performers to soloists and choral works. Particularly popular are the Saturdays at Six concert series – click here for our upcoming programme.

Music is the lifeblood of our worship at St Michael's, and is integrated into all of our principal services. Coming together with organ, choir or band, we can worship God with one voice. If you would like to join any of our groups, please do get in touch.
