The Reverend Bryce Wandrey

Associate Vicar

Bryce is from Elgin, Minnesota. He graduated from St Olaf College in 1999 and Concordia Theological Seminary in 2003. He was pastor of Augustana Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hickory, North Carolina for 4 years. He married Nichole in 2006 and they moved to St Stephen's House Oxford in 2007 where Bryce earned a Diploma for Theology Graduates. He was curate at St Michael's from 2008-11 and has been Associate Vicar since the summer of 2011. He is also Priest in Charge at All Saints', Highgate.

Bryce and Nichole have two daughters, Caroline and Emily. When he isn't in local cafes reading you may find him out running or ministering to local publicans.

The Reverend Robert Willoughby

Interim Priest

Robert grew up in East Cheshire and misses Peak District scenery, culture, humour and water. For many years he taught biblical studies and political theology at London School of Theology. He also writes for both adults and children and creates church resources. He is married to Ro and has a married son and daughter both of whom live and work in Sheffield. Robert also loves being in Highgate and working to help people to grow in their faith and to become more confident in sharing it with others.

The Reverend Howard Rogers

Assistant Curate (Self-Supporting)

Howard spent 25 years at the BBC, mainly at Radio 4 where he was a sometime reporter, and duty editor on ‘Today’ and 'PM' among many others. He was also ‘Father of the Chapel’ in the National Union of Journalists, a formidable figure on the picket line!

After early retirement, Howard travelled widely, indulge his hobby of archaeology, which eventually led to courses in Christinaity, becoming a Reader and ordination to the priesthood in 2008.

Howard and his wife Corinna have lived in the same little house in Kentish Town for the last 42 years. Corinna may be observed early on Sunday Mornings planting flowers just outside the church door…..she is the ultimate ‘Guerrilla Gardener’!

Jonathan grew up with four siblings in Brighton and studied history and politics at university. At St Michael’s he co-ordinates activities for children and families, and is usually to be found with sticky fingers and glittery hands on Sunday mornings. In his spare time he enjoys exploring London and entertaining family and friends.

Veronica Sanderson

Veronica moved to Highgate at the age of 16 and met Nick at St Michae'ls Youth Group. In due course they married and brought up their four children. She can be found at the back of church on most Sunday mornings welcoming families to the 9:45 service.

Anne is a retired teacher and has been a Reader for over 30 years in four dioceses. She and her husband, John, have recently returned to London after a stint on Dartmoor, doing up a medieval house. Anne is very interested in contemplative prayer, and is also involved with children's work in the parish.

Robert grew up in south-west Germany. With Andrea, his wife, and their children, Ella, Anni and Louis, he’s been living for nearly 20 years in Highgate. Robert is a Reader at St Michael’s and a Trustee at St Martin-in-the-Fields; he plays guitar, banjo and bass (member of the Doghouse!), is a member of the Parish Magazine editing team and works as an investment banker.

Nick has attended the church for a very long time, having been baptised at St Michael’s at the age of four. He is currently a Reader but has been PCC Secretary and churchwarden. He is married to Veronica (they were married at St.Michael’s). He is a solicitor, currently spending most of his time advising on Islamic finance.

Gill is a Reader at St.Michael's where she has worshipped for many, many years. She was married to her late husband Tom and has four sons and four grandchildren.

Reader

John has been a Reader at St. Michael's since 2007.  He has been a member of the Diocesan Synod, a member, Secretary and Lay Chair of the Deanery Synod, and a mentor at the College of Law. He has been on the PCC for many years, and has also been a Churchwarden.  He is currently appointed as a lay assessor of ordinands, and also conducts ministerial reviews.  John is an Assistant Coroner, and serves as a trustee at a number of charities. People do use the word "best" for his jokes (but only when followed by the word "forgotten").

Lauren moved to Highgate when she was seven having started at Channing two years before and commuted from Essex. She first stepped inside St Michael's one Friday night in November 1991 as her friend was going to choir practice. She joined the choir that weekend and has been a regular parishioner ever since. She met her husband, Paul (Director of Music) when he came to be Assistant Organist in 1997 and they married in the church in 2005. They have three children, Hana, Joseph and Primrose and the eldest is now in the choir.
 
Lauren studied Arabic at university then worked as a freelance stage manager specialising in opera and physical theatre for many years. Children and touring didn't mix and she now works at Middlesex University as the Stage Management Tutor for the Performing Arts Programme.

Lauren still loves to sing and can be found in the choir for choral evening services, and the front row of the congregation at the 9.45am service, trying to quieten three children shouting for daddy!

Alan is married to Ginny. They have three daughters and a son and they have been active members of St Michael’s church since arriving from Liverpool (coincidentally from St Michael’s, Blundellsands) in 2003. Alan became warden in 2012 and is also a member of the Stewardship & Finance and Fabric Committees. Other interests: Alan is a member of the band The Doghouse.

Jane is mother to Hugo, and is a Detective with the Metropolitan Police, and a Founding Director of My Creche, a new childcare concept offering flexible 'no committment' nursery places by the hour. She grew up in Highgate and attended St Michael's School. She has been an active member of St Michael's Church since 2011, and is a Deputy Church Warden, as well as serving on the PCC and Standing and Finance, and Fellowship and Social committees.

Vanessa is a former BBC producer/director and now full time mum to three-year-old Saskia. Married to Alex, she lives in Highgate having moved/returned from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania in 2013. She is a Light Groups leader, specialising in helium-fuelled activities and battle re-enactments with 99p shop props. She is a member of the Standing and Finance, and Fellowship and Social Committees.
